This interactive online course provides a comprehensive overview of cyber security for BSA Building Society & Credit Union Members, the risks it presents to your business and ensuring you can withstand and quickly recover from a cyber attack. 


Course Overview
In today's unpredictable environment, having a robust business continuity plan is essential. This course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to keep your business operational during cyber security disruptions. Through hands-on immersive exercises and expert guidance, you will learn how to make informed and risk based decisions in preparation for, and during, times of business disruptions and major incidents caused by cyberattacks. 

The course will be delivered digitally and will be led by an expert cyber security professional using a variety of tools to encourage interaction and group learning.

This course will help participants to understand:
- How well do you need to know cyber security? 
- Who's accountable, who's responsible? 
- Cyber security culture and why it's key to reducing incidents
- Challenges faced by the Board in understanding cyber security risks for their organisation 
- Strategically approaching adoption of new technologies (like AI) 
- Risk based decision-making
- Major cyber security incidents and how to respond (understanding thresholds for risk) 
- What you can do to guide and support risk based decision-making

Who should attend: 
This course is aimed at anyone with a strategic oversight of cyber security and business continuity at building society/credit unions, in particular Non-Executive Directors, C-Suite and Operational teams.

Due to the nature of the training places on this course are limited.

Course trainer:

Ash Mohanaprankas is an Oxford graduate and highly accredited Cyber security and Risk professional, currently Head of Information Security at Vault Platform. With almost a decade of experience in information security, risk management and strategic leadership spanning Academia, Start ups, and highly regulated organisations, Ash has led the information security and compliance programmes and trains information security professionals. 

Prior to Vault, Ash was the Senior Lead Consultant at Bridewell, one of the UK’s leading Cyber security agencies, overseeing internal and client-facing Security, Business Continuity, and Compliance programmes. Ash was recently awarded the Women’s Business Runner Up in the 2023 Awards and continues to encourage people to consider Security as a career pathway. 

Ash is CRISC, CISMP, and PCI DSS certified, with experience in delivering PCI DSS, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and NHS Digital DSP Toolkit certifications, and establishing a unified compliance and risk management frameworks successfully for clients.
