Get ready for OFC 2019!

Old Fashion Christmas is Dec. 6th – 8th! We’ll meet at 6:30 at the church or you could meet us there. The location can be found in the troop newsletter. The cost for the weekend is $20. This will be a fun-filled week full of fun, games, fellowship, and food!

This is the only trip where scouts can bring all kinds of electronics or digital media, including phones, tablets, computers, video games, movies, consoles, TVs, cameras, mp3 players, drones, and anything else you can think of! All games must be rated below teen, and movies must be rated PG-13 and below, however some exceptions may apply. Any games or movies that do not follow these rules will be confiscated. Please coordinate with others that are going so you can plan what you’re bringing.

*** Please note that Troop 84 is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Don’t bring anything you don’t want to lose, but also, if it’s not yours then don’t touch it. ***

OFC is also the time where we eat a ton of great food! If you need to help with cooking for rank advancement, this will be a great opportunity to do so. The cost of food is $20.

We will also be cleaning up the nearby baseball field as service.

We’ll be doing plenty of things Saturday afternoon! The first thing we’ll be doing is thinking of ideas for our float in the Christmas Parade. The second thing will be exchanging gifts for Secret Santa! If you need to know who you’re getting a gift for, please ask your SPL. Gifts should cost no more that $10, and if you don’t give a gift, you don’t get a gift. The third thing we’ll be doing is planning our schedule for the upcoming year! If you have any ideas for trips we should take, feel free to say them. Please also think about activities and trips that we can do with other troops! Lastly, we’ll be electing officers for the upcoming year!! If you want to run for a position in the troop, please write a Letter of Intent and bring it to the next meeting or to OFC. You can run for any position and more than one position. If any positions aren’t filled, they may be appointed. Positions can be found at: http://www.bsatroop84.org/youth-leadership-roles/. If you already have a position, you may run for a different one, or rerun for the one you have now.

The menu will be roughly the same as it was last year:

  • Saturday Breakfast: pancakes, bacon, and eggs.
  • Saturday Lunch: various pizzas.
  • Saturday Dinner: ham and turkey, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy, corn, and green beans, and pumpkin and cherry pie for desert.
  • Sunday Breakfast: French toast casserole.
  • Beverages: Water, Kool-Aid, and hot chocolate.

After all is said and done for the weekend, we’ll head back to the church to put everything away. We hope to see you there!
